Privacy Policy


Online Allergies is an online database that allows users to store and share their allergy information with people of their choosing. We know that you care about how your personal information is used and shared. We take your privacy seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy. By using the Online Allergies Site, Services, and/or Content, you are accepting the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy. We collect user information in an effort to improve your experience and to communicate with you about our services and promotions. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, to people whom we do not employ or manage or to third party websites.

Your Online Allergies account is intended for your individual use. It is not intended for the use of your physician or other medical professionals who are treating you.


When you sign up for an Online Allergies account you provide us with your email address as a login and create a profile in which you provide us with your name, gender, birth date, city of residence, and you may optionally provide us with your picture, blood type, dietary habits, allergies and other pertinent information. You may also create profiles that contain the same information for your spouse with their permission. You may also create profiles for your children, or any child or adult dependents that you have obtained permission from and are legally responsible for.


We may use the demographic and health-related information you provide to improve our Site and the services we offer and to tailor the advertising displayed on our Site to the interests of individual users to increase the likelihood that our users will find these ads useful and informative. We may also share de-identified or aggregate or aggregated user data with third parties unless you opt-out of sharing such information with third parties. The Site is not a Health Plan, a Health Care Clearinghouse, or a Health Care Provider, and is not subject to and/or bound by the privacy standards or other provisions of HIPAA. We do not share names, email addresses, and pictures with third party advertisers. The data will be put to no other uses except for those listed in this privacy policy.

We use data to create statistics and reports where personally identifiable information has been removed and aggregated. We keep your personally identifiable information confidential and we generally do not disclose it. Please note the following clarifications and exceptions:

  • When we have your explicit consent to release your information.
  • Our employees and independent contractors have access to some of your personally identifiable information for the purpose of helping us run our business (and not for their own purposes). They access and use such data subject to our instructions, on a "need to know" basis and under confidentiality and security obligations.
  • When we need to enforce our Terms of Use.
  • When we believe it is necessary to share personal information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, courts or other government entities.


You may opt-out from being included in anonymous data sharing at any time. To access your privacy settings, click update under the statistics column on the left hand side of the main account holder's profile. De-identified data is defined as any information you've provided in all of the Online Allergies' profiles associated with your account, or that we collect through our normal use of the site, with the exception of your name, email address, and photo. We do not share your name, email address or photograph with any third party advertisers.


We use "cookies" (small pieces of data we store for an extended period of time on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) to make Online Allergies easier to use and to protect both you and Online Allergies. We also use them to confirm that you are logged into Online Allergies and to know when you are interacting with Online Allergies Platform applications and websites, our widgets and Share buttons. You can remove or block cookies using the settings in your browser, but in some cases that may impact your ability to use Online Allergies.


  • Online Allergies' third-party advertising is currently handled by Google. Third party vendors, including Google use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to Online Allergies.
  • Google's use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to Online Allergies users based on your visit to Online Allergies and/or other sites on the Internet.

When you access Online Allergies from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location, and IP address, as well as the pages you visit.


Once you've created an account:

  • We give you the opportunity to share any of your account's profiles with any registered users of Online Allergies that you choose. The information contained in your profile includes your name, age, location, dietary preference, blood type, your photo and your allergy lists and any other pertinent information.
  • When you share your information with other users of the site, you are also giving Online Allergies permission to send your information, which may include sensitive health information, to the individuals you choose to share with.
  • Account holders have full access to any information shared with all family member profiles they create and manage. The account manager is identified when sharing (aka making an Al-Pal request) with a profile under the control of another.
  • Please bear in mind that if you choose to share your information to other users on Online Allergies, you do so at your own risk. Be careful who you choose to share this information with. Online Allergies cannot be held accountable for the actions of users you share your profile(s) with.
  • If you are not comfortable sharing any piece of information beyond what is required to maintain a profile (that is, your name, age, gender, location) then do not include it in your profile.
  • When you invite someone to join Online Allergies, who is not currently a member of the site, we will send them an email invitation to join Online Allergies.
  • To help registered users find you when making an Al-Pal request, we display your name and photo (if you've provided a photo) in search results on the Online Allergies website.


To change or remove any profile data, click the update button located in the appropriate section of the profile you wish to modify. For example, to modify an allergy list, click the update button in the category of allergies you wish to change.


You can deactivate your account at any time. To deactivate an account, select the primary account holder's allergy profile. Click the DELETE DISPLAYED PROFILE button beneath the allergy list. Removed and deleted information may persist in back up copies temporarily for up to 15 days but will not be available to others. If you wish to rejoin the site, you may create a new account at any time.


  • By using Online Allergies, you are representing that you are at least 18 years of age.
  • Children under the age of 18 are not eligible to use Online Allergies and must not attempt to register with Online Allergies and/or submit any personal information to us themselves. Online Allergies does not knowingly collect personal information from any person who is under the age of 18 or allow them to register. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personal data directly from a person under the age of 18, we will delete this information as quickly as possible.   • Parents or Guardians are responsible for creating profiles for children that are under the age of 18 and under their direct guardianship.


  • Online Allergies takes precautions to ensure the security of your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee that hackers or unauthorized personnel will not gain access to your personal information despite our efforts. You should note that in using the Online Allergies site, your information will travel through third party infrastructures which are not under our control. Consequently, you acknowledge that there are circumstances in which your personal information may be accessed by unauthorized persons. For example, we cannot control any illegal and/or unforeseen activity of other users that may allow them to get around the privacy or security settings on Online Allergies.
  • We cannot protect, nor does this Privacy Policy apply to, any information that you transmit to other Users.
  • Online Allergies uses a variety of safeguards to help protect your personal information, including technical, administrative and physical controls. Please bear in mind though, that it is impossible for Online Allergies to guarantee that impenetrable security measures are in place. The security of your personal information depends in part on your protection of your account password. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorized persons.
  • Our employees and independent contractors have access to some of your personally identifiable information for the purpose of helping us run our business (and not for their own purposes). They access and use such data subject to our instructions, on a "need to know" basis and under confidentiality and security obligations.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of our business changes, we may transfer your personally identifiable information to the new owner so that the service can continue to operate. In such a case, your information would remain subject to the promises made in our existing Privacy Policy.
